Product Description

Our spotlight dates back to the 1930's and was likely used on a French Navy battleship. By moving slatted louvers the signalman sent short and longer spaced beams of light that could be read by trained sailors in the distance, known to most of us as Morse code. So that's a bit of history about this style of lamp but the way this replica is made is no less interesting.

The huge lamp housing is made of aluminium finished in a high gloss with brass internal parts and hardware. The tripod is nickel plated, machine steel and brass which adds to the industrial look. There is a large cog and wheel mechanism which adjusts the height of the lamp head and the adjustable louvers allow light to be regulated and focused.  The housing can take a 100 watt incandescent or 23-watt CFL bulb.
